Billy Corgan is one of my personal favorite singers. I first heard him in his band Smashing Pumpkins. I liked the name because when I was a kid, my friends and I always smashed all the unattended pumpkins we could find. Billy Corgan has an unusual voice for a popular singer. I sometimes think it has an annoying tone, almost whiney when I think about it, but nonetheless, most of his music is amazing and full of heart and emotion. In 2001, he formed the band Zwan. I had a heard time differentiating the sound from the Smashing Pumkins because it sounded the same to me. It was a hit in my book. His song titled 1979 is by far my favorite, reminding me of the wonderful times I had as a child of 8 years old. Thanks Billy for all the wonderful music you've made!
